Bravery Bee Bracelet (Children's sizing)
When I was little growing up, my older sister had surgery and had to stay overnight at Christchurch hospital.
We were, (and are), super close, and she was intensely afraid of the dark.
She told me she was scared because Hospitals were dark at night, with strange noises, and me being an anxious little child, I remember feeling so tight in my stomach and sick with worry.
Our mum bought a pack of those old school glow sticks – the ones you break the crystal inside then shake to mix the chemicals and it glows. She said when either of us felt lonely or were thinking about the other one, hold tight of the glow stick, and know your Sister would be thinking of you too.
It’s a memory that has stuck with me, and one that I have wanted to use to design something that really does help out our littler generation.
A while back I purchased some incredible photoluminescent Croatian Glass beads. They have been sitting in a bowl next to my bed patiently waiting…..and waiting….
I only make my designs with purpose and a backstory, so it wasn’t until I also found the absolute PERFECT Bee beads, – hand blown, lamp work venetian glass, with solid colour (so will never wear off), that I instantly knew what I would make (and something else extra special that I’ll be introducing soon)…
Bravery Bees are just the cutest ever. Their little light up bead shines so bright, and it never runs out – just expose to sunlight, hold under a bright light or UV light, and it will brighten back up….
I’ve teamed this with natural Obsidian black beads – they feel so nice & comforting, and are known for their protective, balancing and calming nature.
Designed for little wrists, and completely unisex, I am just so happy with how they have turned out.
If you know a little one who might be feeling a bit anxious, has lost someone close, has a relative or themselves maybe staying overnight in hospital, or who simply is just afraid of the dark, this little bracelet might just help!

Made to fit an average child’s wrist 13-15cm
